'Thar she blows'

At last the 1st recorded Minke Whale past Whitburn Obs this year
After reading a recent tweet from @NTsteely that the Farnes had there 4th of the year i was hopeful it wouldn't be long before i saw one
At 05.30 one went south (beyond buoy distance), it surfaced four times and wasn't difficult to see on a sea of glass, nice way to start the day. I was surprised i didn't see any other cetaceans in these perfect 'Stormie' conditions

After a day off yesterday doing my breading bird survey near Edmundbyers it was back to business
